A fellow prego looked at Amber incredulously yesterday. While it was true that we didn't have a hospital bag packed yet, we thought it was hardly a reason for such dramatics. It certainly does sink in a bit, when you pack your bag for the big day, b/c you kind of have to admit to yourself, that while the big day is still a bit off according to the schedule, we're preparing for the fact that it really, truly, holy crap it might be tomorrow. Of course we hope for full term, and yet still plan for LCMASDES to shake things up a bit. The realization that we packed clothes for LCMASDES for the first, but the first of many times was a little surreal. Up to this point, he's always been happy to wear nothing but his mother, who also serves as an excellent punching bag. Very convenient young lady.

Also a bit disconcerting, according to the "books" we should install the car seat a month before the birth. I'll be darned if that's not next week already. Oy.

We've officially lost our minds!
As if preparing for a new life isn't stressfull enough, we've decided that we should move, as well.
The wonderful timing? A mere 5 days before LCMASDES is due to enter the world. Yikes again.
It's a three bedroom house that we'll be renting, and is just slightly more than we're paying for our 2 bedroom right now. Adding in the central air, big deck, and HUGE backyard, we felt that we just couldn't pass it up. It's in a better neighbourhood, a block from a bike path and closer to the church. We're very excited about the prospect, but it does find a way to increase the stress levels, because... well, isn't it obvious? Our doctor said that LCMASDES is a little big for his age and so we can expect (in Amber's case HOPE) that he'll be a little early.
What that means is that if we time it right, our friends will be forced to labour for us completely, while we're in the midst of a different kind of labour. We've already had a tonne (metric, of course) of friends tell us that we just can't pass this place up, and that they're more than willing to help. Praise God for such great people in our lives!

Amber, showing off LCMASDES to the world! We've only got 2 & 1/2 Months to go... oh yeah, and this is what the "nursery" looks like right now. Yikes!

And this is "THE OUTFIT" that LCMASDES will be wearing home from the hospital, if Mama has her way. (and Mamas always do!)

This is Amber at her second babyshower ( six months ).
We would like to thank all of you who were there and for all the wonderful gifts.

So, we wanted to establish an easy way for you (our loved friends and family) from anywhere you may or may not be (St. Louis, South Korea, New Zealand, the Dominican, just pulling things out of my hat) on this crazy planet to keep on top of the growth of THE BABY. (Henceforward to be referred to as the "life changing, mind altering, sacrifice demanding, energy sucker: LCMASDES for short) Please forgive the first few pictures of LCMASDES, as he is hidden within his maternal unit. Also please forgive the assumption that LCMASDES is a he, but we do believe that all "indications" from the ultra-sound would suggest that LCMASDES is, in fact, quite a guy after all. If you wanted to be surprised as to the gender, you never should have come to a blog named like this one. (try and pay attention)

So, please drop by from time to time and see if two uber-tired brand new parents will actually find the time to post to a blog. You see, we certainly have the required excitement and pride in our child, and we certainly do have the utmost of best intentions, but cannot in good faith make any iron-clad, money back guarantee about the frequency of posts. If you are interested, please let us know if you'd like a "here's a new post" type of email, and we'll put you on a list to let you know when there's new pictures available of LCMASDES.
